Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie will be the first athlete to be fully paid in crypto for a sponsorship. Celsius announced Wednesday that Dinwiddie would be partnering with them. Celsius is a leading global cryptocurrency yield-earning platform. The partnership will primarily focus on cryptocurrency education and building awareness of Celsius’ mission: financial independence through the blockchain.
Dinwiddie will be participating in community engagement campaigns and social media events. This will include weekly guest appearances on Celsius’ YouTube and Clubhouse events and will be paid in CEL tokens.

“We are thrilled to partner with Spencer Dinwiddie on this endeavor to bring the next 100 million people into crypto.”
Vijay Konduru, Chief Marketing Officer of Celsius
Konduru also added Dinwiddie is an accomplished athlete and entrepreneur that is a long-time crypto and blockchain adopter.
Dinwiddie also stated his excitement for joining Celsius as an official partner:
“Being an early adopter of crypto, I’ve seen first-hand the benefits of blockchain-based finance and the opportunities it presents where traditional banking methods have fallen short. Not only is Celsius a pioneer in this space, but we share the same values and commitment to a business model that prioritizes giving back to the community it serves.”
