The NBL’s South East Melbourne Phoenix is reportedly interested in signing John Wall.

According to Code Sports, the Phoenix will heavily pursue the five-time All-Star. Additionally, Wall has a minority stake in the franchise, as well as a relationship with majority owner Romi Chaudhary. Consequently, the NBL club hopes Wall’s affinity with them will help in their attempts to recruit him.

This past season, the 32-year-old played 34 games for the Clippers. He averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per contest. However, Wall is most known for his tenure with the Wizards.

At his peak, he earned five straight All-Star appearances, as well as an All-NBA selection in 2016-17. Furthermore, Wall led the Wizards to the playoffs four times. Although they never had a Conference Finals berth, they lost a scintillating seven-game series to the Celtics in the second round in 2017. During that series, Wall averaged 25.1 points, 10.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds.

The 2023-24 NBL season is set to start on September 28.
