The Houston Rockets have been on an absolute tear lately. The team has won their last eight games and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Their success comes in large part to Jalen Green‘s dominant performance on the court.

While on the Run It Back show, Shams Charania revealed a shocking trade that never materialized. The move would have changed the trajectory for both the Rockets and the Brooklyn Nets.

“The [Houston] Rockets called the Nets on Mikal Bridges and I’m told they discussed a concept around Jalen Green and multiple first-round picks. That deal was not accepted by the [Brooklyn] Nets.”

The Rockets were incredibly lucky that the Nets trade never materialized. Even if Green isn’t in the teams long term plans, he has done a great job at improving his overall interest in other teams.

In his last six games, Green is averaging 31.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. With Alperen Sengun being out of the lineup, Green has put the team on his back as they prepare to make a playoff push. The Rockets are just one game behind the Golden State Warriors with 12 games left in the season.

“He has thrived without Alperen Sengun in the lineup and a lot of that is because they are able to play his style of game without Sengun in the lineup.”

The future of the Rockets looks to be in good hands. Ime Udoka has his team playing their best basketball at the right time. They have the ability to shock some teams if they are able to make the playoffs. If not, the future is undoubtedly very bright.
