Udonis Haslem thinks he can catch a slant pass in the NFL. However, if the situation was reversed with a football athlete, he doubts they could make a jump shot.

Udonis Haslem In the NFL?

The retired NBA athlete claims that he’d be able to perform more in football than an athlete from the NFL would be able to perform in basketball. The three-time NBA champion opens up about how it’d be easier to catch a slant pass on his podcast, The OGs Show.

He doesn’t mince words and instantly opens it up with the claim that basketball players can play football. Meanwhile, football players think they can play basketball. However, he disagrees and assures that the NFL athletes would find difficulty in making a jump shot.

“All basketball players think they can play football and all football players think they could play basketball. Now, I could get out there and catch a slant real quick. Can y’all motherf—ers hit a jump shot?”

He recalls his time in high school about how all the good basketball players that would “beat his a–” were all football athletes during the season. However, once it was off-season, they all returned to playing basketball.

“All the n—– I played with that went to Miami High that play football, when football season was over they came to basketball, they were beating my a–.”

His take eventually gets the whole crew on the OGs Show to agree with him. Fans might be able to see this in action if Anthony Edwards goes through with his plan of being an athlete for both the NBA and NFL simultaneously.

The Opinion Is Dividing The Community

His opinion proves to be divisive to the fans. Many agree with the retired Miami Heat player. Furthermore, this brings to mind how people consider NBA athletes to be the most versatile in any sport.

However, some respond with doubt and ask for a sample run of how Haslem would catch a slant.

Meanwhile, others are taking shots at him for even pushing the idea. Some even call him out for his hubris.

Like it or hate it, he does posit an interesting idea. Do you think football players would perform better in the NBA, or would basketball players be better in the NFL?
