Tiger King

The Netflix documentary that took the world by storm; Tiger King. This true-crime doc has it all. This 8-part docuseries follows Joe Exotic, his big cat zoo, and his attempts to take down his chief rival Carole Baskin. After the show received enormous and rapid amounts of popularity, the majority of the stars of the show came together for an after-show – much to fans’ pleasure. And if that weren’t enough, there are already talks of a potential Tiger King movie in the near future. It is rumored that Nicolas Cage is going to land the role of playing the infamous Joe Exotic.
Outer Banks

My personal favorite, Outer Banks, was released April 15th, 2020, and has been amongst Netflix’s Top 10 shows almost every day since. This show follows four best friends in North Carolina on the hunt for a famous treasure worth millions in gold. This 10 episode action series includes cliffhangers, conflict, and mystery — the whole package. Only a month after the show’s release, it is already likely that this show will be renewed for a second season.
The Flash

When Barry Allen was 11 years old, he saw his mother murdered by a mysterious red and yellow lightning figure. His father was then wrongfully imprisoned for the crime. Ten years later, a particle accelerator explosion and a bolt of lightning turn Barry Allen into The Flash. During the show’s six seasons and counting, Barry and Team Flash have to overcome speedsters, doppelgangers, and parallel universes.
The Last Dance

With no sports on during quarantine, sports fans were able to rejoice while watching The Last Dance. According to Netflix, this doc has been viewed in 23.8M households outside the United States. This 10 part docuseries follows the likes of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and the Chicago Bulls. If you’re missing sports during this global pandemic, this doc is a must-watch.
The Office

I realize that if you haven’t seen The Office by now, you probably just don’t want to. Still, hear me out. The Office is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, and for a good reason. This mockumentary-style sitcom starring Steve Carrell follows the employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Although the first season is mediocre, if you can power through those six episodes, I promise you won’t regret it.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Welcome to the 99. One of the most popular shows on Netflix, this sitcom follows quirky and childish detective Jake Peralta and his group of co-workers as they try to adapt to their new, demanding life after their precinct gets a new, no-nonsense commanding officer. I highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for a laugh during these trying times.
Real Detective

A great binge for anyone interested in true crime shows. Real Detective is about real-life detectives and the true cases that still haunt them years after. Each episode is a different replication of an actual murder as the detectives offer their explanation and insight throughout the episode.
21 and 22 Jumpstreet

What’s the only thing better than a great movie? Answer: When there’s a sequel. These hilarious and raunchy comedies are bound to make you chuckle. The two films include Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, both portraying undercover cops posing as students to gather information on drugs.
Modern Family

Another mockumentary-style sitcom, Modern Family is one of the funniest shows on Netflix. The show follows the lives of the Dunphy, Pritchett, and Tucker-Pritchett families as they get into all sorts of mayhem. First airing in 2009 and just concluding last month, Modern Family is loaded with 11 full seasons with each season consisting of about 20 episodes — this should keep you busy for a couple of weeks.
Happy binging!
