Philadelphia retains their star center for another season at the very least. The 2021 season will be Kelce’s 11th in the league.
The deal reportedly is worth a guaranteed $9 million with a potential worth of $12 million over several years. However, the contract is essentially a 1-year deal with add-ons in future years.
Next season will see Kelce protecting yet another quarterback after Carson Wentz left the team in a trade to the Colts last month.
After thinking of a potential retirement these past few years, the veteran decided to continue on with the team. He had the following to say about his return via the team’s website:
“I’m having fun and as long as I’m having fun and I feel I’m playing at a level I want to play at, I’m going to keep doing it. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead for [the team].”
Jason Kelce
Kelce is a 3-time All-Pro and 4-time Pro-Bowler in the league. He also played a vital part in the team’s Super Bowl LII win in 2018 as the Eagles famously upset Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Drafted in 2011 by the Eagles, Kelce may retire being an Eagle for his entire career in the coming years. However, that retirement is clearly not coming this season as he is still showing drive for the game.
