Jalen Ramsey and the Rams have agreed to a five-year, $105 million extension. The contract will make Ramsey the highest-paid cornerback in the league.

The Rams traded for Ramsey in 2019, around the time of the trade deadline. They gave up two first-round picks (2020 and 2021) and a 2021 fourth-round pick.

Since Ramsey arrived in Los Angeles, he recorded one interception and 33 tackles. Also, Ramsey has been named to the Pro Bowl three times in the four seasons he’s been in the league. He made a name for himself in 2017 when he made the All-Pro team. He also picked off four passes, deflected 17, and recorded 63 combined tackles.

The Rams Recent Large Contracts

The Rams are signing their guys to big contracts. The Rams signed Aaron Donald to a six-year, $135 million extension, making him the highest-paid defensive player at the time, passing Von Miller. They also signed Jared Goff to a four-year, $134 million extension. He is currently the sixth highest-paid QB in the NFL. Todd Gurley, the final big contract for the Rams, got a four-year, $60 million extension. The Rams did drop Gurley in March, after a sub-par season from him. He has since signed with Atlanta.

The Rams are hoping their high contract guys play up to expectations. Last season they went 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

Los Angeles kicks off their season against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in their brand new stadium.
