Damian Lillard helps a fan secure home-court advantage on the final day of the regular season. A fan tweeted at Lillard in April, saying he needed Portland to win 42 games or he loses his home. Lillard’s response was simply just, “say less.”

The Trailblazers were sitting at 41 wins on the final day of the season, with the Denver Nuggets standing in their way. A lot was on the line for Portland in general during this final game of the season. The Blazers were trying to avoid falling to the seventh seed, and this fan was in jeopardy of losing his home. However, in typical Damian Lillard fashion, he delivered when it mattered most.

The Trailblazers cruised to a 132 to 116 victory over Denver. Lillard had 22 points and 10 assists and then immediately tweeted the fan after the game. The fan claims he put his entire house on the line, so Dame asked to see the ticket to make sure he was not lying about the situation.

Lillard helps a fan keep his home and helps his team avoid another play-in tournament.

Regardless of the situation, Lillard and the Trailblazers did what they needed to do and clinched a spot in this year’s postseason.

Portland avoided the play-in tournament and will enter the NBA playoffs as the sixth seed. They had to do so much last season to get in as an eighth seed. This year they can take a deep breath and game plan for a series with the Nuggets.

Lillard had another MVP caliber season. He finished with an average of close to 29 points per game, over seven assists, shot 45 percent from the field, and close to 40 percent from deep.

The play-in tournament will begin on May 18th, and then the official postseason will kick off on May 22nd. Lillard and the Trailblazers will hit the road and take on the Denver Nuggets.
