KANSAS CITY, MO - JANUARY 12: Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt (99) looks dejected on the bench in the fourth quarter of an NFL Divisional round playoff game between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs on January 12, 2020 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO.

Recently, multiple NFL players have voiced their opinions on the NFL starting the season and what they know.

With there not being any guidelines or protocols released from the commissioner’s office, players have become concerned.

Houston Texans defensive end, JJ Watt tweeted what the players do and don’t know, and there are some worries from what we can see.

The players don’t know if there will be daily testing, resulting in the possibility of a player having COVID-19 for a few days without knowing. The league has not agreed upon a “strong and fair opt-out clause” for players whose families are at a higher risk if infected.

In terms of games, JJ said, “We still do not know if there will be preseason games or not.”

Stefon Diggs also took a shot at Roger Goodell by complimenting Adam Silver and how he handled the NBA’s situation. He explains that the NBA commissioner listened to his players, rather than trying to set up a season just with his staff.

All players have concerns for various reasons, Russell Wilson has a pregnant wife whom he doesn’t want to put at risk, while other NFL players fear it will take a while to become acclimated to the new training camp. Players have to report to training camp in less than 24 hours and could risk being cut or fined if they show up late. All players have one concern, their safety.

Every player who has voiced their concern about the NFL season has finished their post with #WeWantToPlay.

Fans and players both want an NFL season. The NFL needs to step up and set protocols and guidelines.
