The Baltimore Ravens are planning to sign former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant to their practice squad.
If Bryant makes it to the active roster and appears in a game, it will be his first game since the 2017 season. He was released by the Cowboys in 2018 to save 8.5 million in cap space. Bryant signed a one year, 1.25 million dollar deal with the Saints in November 2018. However, before he could appear in a game, he tore his Achilles in practice, ending his season.
Bryant enjoyed eight successful years with the Cowboys after being drafted in 2010. The three-time Pro Bowler led the league in receiving touchdowns in 2014 with 16. During a three-year stretch from 2012-2014, Bryant had at least 1200 receiving yards and ten touchdowns in each of those seasons.
Bryant will join current receivers Marquise Brown and Myles Boykin in the receiver room for the Ravens. With the Ravens, a traditionally run-heavy team, Bryant will likely not achieve the level of productivity he had with the Cowboys.
