Aaron Donald, defensive tackle of the St. Louis Rams, says he cant fathom games without fans, per Greg Beacham.
Donald, a 2014 first-round draft of the Rams, is a 6x pro-bowler and 2x defensive player of the year. He recorded 312 tackles, 72 sacks, and 15 forced fumbles last season.
Since the Coronavirus pandemic there have been questions surrounding whether or not games will happen. There were even suggestions in early April that games can resume without fans, according to Mark Maske of the Washington Post.
George Kittle, tight end for the 49ers, expressed a similar sentiment early April, per NBC Sports.
[T]he fans are what makes the game so much fun, whether its winning a game and your stadium is going ballistic or you win a game on the road and the crowd goes silent, Kittle said.
It was also reported by Forbes Mike Ozanian that without fans the NFL could lose around $5.5 billion. The figure is based on revenue from the 2018 season.
Holding games without fans wouldn’t just be less exciting; it could also cost the NFL financially.
