The Dallas Cowboys are arguably the most in-form team in the entire NFL. Sunday night’s victory against the Minnesota Vikings made it six straight wins for the NFC East leaders. Everyone is starting to notice, including former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky, who believes they are now the best team in the entire NFC.

Orlovsky spoke on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ and did not hold back praising the team and their impressive win against Minnesota.

“As of right now, the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC. To go on the road and play a good football team. Without your starting quarterback. You lose your left tackle and win that football game. You’re the best team. You are the team to beat in the NFC right now.”

Orlovsky played for 12 seasons in the NFL and loved how backup QB Cooper Rush stepped up in the Cowboy’s time of need. Rush threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns, impressively out-performing Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.

“The way Cooper Rush stepped up and played competent football around the pieces. And just not hurting this football team so much and giving them the chance to win the game. It’s a big deal.”

The Dallas Cowboys have a record of 6-1 through the first eight weeks of the season. Orlovsky was keen to highlight the team’s defensive improvements and the form of Ezekiel Elliott in last night’s win and their great form so far this season.

“The game was won because of the Cowboys defense. They had to go on the field in sudden change situations twice, right around midfield. Gave up zero points. Then Ezekiel Elliott a little bit of throwback play on that 3rd & 11. This is old school Zeke. Catch the football and just ‘I’m going to be bigger, better and tougher than you are.’ Cowboys are the team to beat in the NFC.”

Nevertheless, the Dallas Cowboys have not won the NFC since their last Super Bowl victory in 1995. Furthermore, they have missed the playoffs in seven of the last ten seasons. However, this season has a different feel to it.

Dallas is all but certain to win the NFC East, Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott are in Pro-Bowl form, and the team has made huge defensive improvements. The Cowboys have been a bit of a joke over the past decade, but they were always likely to figure it out, and it appears they may have done so in 2021.
