Everson Griffin of the Minnesota Vikings called 911 at 3 am on November 24. Griffen reported that someone was inside his home. Griffen shared with the dispatcher that he had fired a weapon, but nobody was hurt.

Law enforcement from the Minnetrista Police Department treated this situation as if there was an intruder in Griffen’s home. When they arrived at the house, they were unable to find an intruder.

Law enforcement and psychologists have been on the phone with the Vikings’ defensive end throughout the morning, but he is unwilling to come outside and talk.

Minnetrista law enforcement believes that Griffen is alone in the household. The police are currently surrounding his house to ensure that Griffen is safe and that outsiders are unable to approach the house.

This is currently all of the information that is available to the public.

Everson Griffen’s Instagram activity

While most of us were asleep, Griffen was posting disturbing content to his Instagram. They have since been taken down.

Griffen posted screenshots of texts with his agent saying people were trying to kill him. He also posted a video of himself waving a gun around.

“This is my gun … registered to me, I bought all my bullets around town, Dalvin Cook helped me purchase this gun. It all belongs to me.”

Griffen has had mental health battles in the past, as he jumped out of an ambulance in 2018, but nothing like this.

Support from the public

Griffen is going through a mental health crisis, and he has the support of countless people as the situation unfolds.

“That’s my brother. I just want him to be okay.”

Representatives from the Vikings and mental health professionals on the staff are also outside Griffen’s house to accompany the police. As with everyone else involved, they are doing whatever it takes to ensure the 33-year old is safe.

This situation with Griffen is still ongoing.
