Jerry Jones had high praise for his Cowboys following their dominant win over the Eagles on Monday Night Football. He also praised Micah Parsons for his effort and performance in the matchup, along with his play in recent weeks.

Jones hopped on 105.3 The Fan discussing his team’s recent success. Dallas currently owns a 2-1 record and is back from a commanding win over their NFC East rival Eagles. In the game, rookie Micah Parsons excelled on the defensive side of the ball in just his third NFL start, warranting great praise from Jones.

“[He’s] like a young child, [he’s] just soaking it up. Everything is soaking up and going in your memory, and of course, he’s doing that and he’s like a sponge. He just really picks it up and has those gifts. He can take it to action. He’s an outstanding person, he’s as pure as mother’s milk. He just basically steps out there and gives you everything he’s got and nature gave him some skills. And lord does he know how to use them.”

Parsons, who usually plays as a linebacker, also took snaps at the defensive end. He recorded four tackles, half a sack, and a pass deflection throughout the game as he threatened Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense.

His teammates also matched his effort on the offensive side of the ball. Dak Prescott threw for three touchdowns while maintaining a 143.3 QB rating. Ezekiel Elliot also contributed with 95 rushing yards en route to a 41-21 win.

After years of mediocrity, many fans and even Jones seem optimistic for the rest of this season. If Parsons continues this play well into the season, the Cowboys may have found their next great linebacker.

Additionally, the Cowboys also signed Prescott to a long-term deal in the offseason, securing their franchise quarterback, who once again is playing like a true franchise quarterback. If the team keeps it up, Jones may have some more good words for his franchise.
