Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says the Cowboys organization “should adjust expectations” following the season-ending injury to Cowboys QB Dak Prescott.
“We should adjust expectations. (It’s) different than optimism. But we should adjust our expectations. Dak is a very incremental part of the potential success of this football team”

Jones’s comment came during an appearance on K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan on Friday. Jones then went on to endorse the Cowboys quarterback for the foreseeable future, Andy Dalton.
Prescott was off to a great start of the season. Prescott leads the league in passing yards with 1856. The next closest in yards is Josh Allen with just 1589 yards.
After a long standoff between Prescott and the Cowboys this off-season, Prescott eventually signed a one year, 31.409 million-dollar exclusive franchise tag deal to remain with the team for this season. The former Mississippi State prospect was looking for a deal that would have made him a top-5 highest QB in the league before signing that one year deal. The attention turns to the Cowboys front office, who will have to make some difficult decisions this upcoming offseason when Prescott is up for a contract renewal.
Prescott suffered a compound ankle fracture as well as a dislocation in that same ankle. An injury similar to NBA star Gordon Hayward, Prescott was put on IR and will, in all likelihood, not see the field until the beginning of next season at the earliest.
