Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams had an embarrassing performance on Monday Night Football this past week. The San Francisco 49ers stunned the supposed Super Bowl contenders in a 31-10 rout. Elsewhere, Stafford’s wife Kelly threw a pretzel at an opposing fan in the stands sometime during the game on Monday. Matthew Stafford’s wife later apologized for throwing the pretzel in an Instagram comment.

“I’m an idiot. He was saying a bunch of things that were aggressive towards our crew but zero excuse. I tried to apologize, but in the end knew I was wrong. Will always stand up for my guy and everyone I love, but obviously needed to do it completely different! I’m embarrassed too! Sorry you had to witness me in my weak moment!”

Matthew Stafford had a rough game on Monday night. The 49ers stunned their division rivals at home in Santa Clara in Levi’s Stadium. Stafford’s performance and being in enemy territory made him an easy target for the home fans. Matthew Stafford’s wife claimed she was standing up for her husband, but the decision to throw the salted snack was a step too far.

The Los Angeles Rams quarterback completed 26/41 passes, equalling a 64.4 completion percentage. He put up 243 passing yards on the night and threw for the Rams’ only touchdown. However, he also made some costly mistakes in the game, throwing two interceptions.

The Rams came into the week with breaking news in two facets of their Wide Receiving core. Less than a week ago, the team won the bidding war for new and former free agent Odell Beckham Jr. No less than a few days later, stud wide receiver Robert Woods reportedly tore his ACL in a fall at practice. Perhaps Stafford and the Rams are suffering from growing pains and will hopefully adjust to their new offensive attack as we advance in the season.
