Patrick Mahomes responds to a fan telling him to be wary of Justin Herbert in 2021. The Chargers quarterback threw for over 4,300 yards and 31 touchdowns as a rookie. However, Mahomes doesn’t seem too concerned about Herbert and the Chargers.

Mahomes and other sports stars took part in the American Century Championship last weekend in Lake Tahoe, California. A fan yelled at Mahomes to watch out for Justin Herbert next year. Mahomes gave the fan a quick response that lets the whole sports world know that he isn’t concerned with any other quarterback.

Ill see it when I believe it.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are fresh off another AFC West title and Super Bowl appearance. The team also has aspirations of having a perfect season in 2021. As a result, their leader already looks locked in.

Herbert and the Chargers, on the other hand, are just hoping to perform better than last season. The Chargers went 7-9 last season. It does look like they have found their long-term answer at quarterback. However, the AFC West is still in the Chiefs’ control no matter how well the young quarterback performs.

Herbert played his first career game against Kansas City in week two of last season. Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor had a last-minute injury, so Herbert was thrown into the fire. Herbert threw for 311 yards and had two total touchdowns in the overtime loss.

Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert are going to have plenty of battles for years to come. However, the Chargers have ways to go before they get to the level the Cheifs are at.

Herbert should make some serious strides in year two. Los Angeles has a new coach, and Herbert has a full offseason to really learn the playbook and develop that relationship with his receivers.

The two quarterbacks will face off on September 26th in Kansas City. Herbert will look to make Mahomes eat those words and prove that he and the Chargers shouldn’t be taken lightly.
