Russell Wilson was recently released by the Denver Broncos after a disappointing two year stretch with the team. The pairing never was able to come together in the way both sides had anticipated.

Now, Wilson will look forward to seeing where he will be playing football next season. Wilson won’t officially be released until the new league year starts on March 13th. However, that hasn’t stopped him from talking with teams.

Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants have agreed to take meetings with the 35-year-old quarterback. Recently, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson talked about the potential of Wilson joining the Steelers.

“A little birdie told me, and I said this many shows ago, Russell Wilson’s coming on over to the Steelers.”

The Steelers are coming off yet another playoff appearance last year. The biggest issue on the team though remains quarterback. While Kenny Pickett hasn’t been terrible, he hasn’t shown he can be a franchise option.

While Wilson may not be the quarterback he was with the Seattle Seahawks, his veteran presence may be enough for the team to make a change.

Meanwhile, the Giants have also taken a meeting with the veteran. Rich Eisen revealed that the Giants organization is ready to move on from Daniel Jones and will look to find alternatives.

“The Giants are absolutely done with Daniel Jones. Might have to play him this year, but that ain’t it, and they feel that ain’t it. The words I heard at the Combine multiples times were buyers remorse.”

The Giants are also in a position where they could trade up for a quarterback. A lot of uncertainty clouds Wilson and this upcoming group of free agents. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Wilson takes interviews with any other teams.
