Former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time national champion Tim Tebow is eyeing an NFL return. Reports came earlier today that Tim Tebow requested a tryout at Tight End with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Adam Schefter reported that the former NFL player had recently worked out with Jags Tight Ends coach Tyler Bowen. The organization is yet to decide if they will admit Tebow for a tryout at this time.

We all remember Tim Tebow best for his miracle run with the Denver Broncos back in 2011. Coming in relief of former starter Kyle Orton, Tebow led the then 1-4 Broncos through a 7-4 stretch to close out the season. This gifted them an 8-8 record for the year and a surprising playoff berth as AFC West division champions.

They carried the momentum gained from their run into the postseason and went as far as the divisional round after knocking off the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round. Unfortunately, they were then soundly beaten by the Patriots in what was Tebow’s last game with the Broncos.

Though his short run was successful, the numbers he put up did not illustrate it. Tebow threw 12 touchdowns and only six interceptions in his sophomore campaign, but at a mere 46.5 completion percentage. He barely played in New York and has since been out of the NFL.

The former Broncos starter never truly left the sports world after his NFL departure. Tebow took up an analyst job at ESPN in 2013 to cover college football. He eventually left that post in favor of a professional career in baseball in 2016.

Starting at an instructional league in New York, Tebow played his way up onto the New York Mets minor league affiliate, the Syracuse Mets. His baseball career reached its official end in 2020 after announcing his retirement that February.

We will see if the 33-year-old Tim Tebow can get his tryout with the Jacksonville Jaguars and make his return to football in the 2021 season.
