Two time Pro Bowl participant Jamal Adams will soon be a former Jets safety.
ESPN reporter Rich Cimini claims Adams asked to be dealt, assuming to a team that will extend his rookie contract. Leading up to this Adams made attempts to be extended, all with failure. During the public attempts, the Ravens and Cowboys called to see if Adams was on the block.
The Jets are in need of receiving, desperately. Jamison Crowder caught the most balls, 78. Crowder also had the most yards, 833. Not the entertaining one-man show youd think of, at least stat-wise. Darnolds second option Robby Anderson split, signing with the Panthers.
Although picks might be an option, Darnold still needs a number one guy this year.
Potential Deals for Adams
Ravens:
Marquise Brown is Lamar Jacksons number one target, with only 46 rec and 584 yards. At 23 hes very young and can grow with Darnold. Although he is considered to be tremendous, he is unproven. Lamar is a scrambler, therefore Brown did not make much of an impact statistically.
Mock Deal:
Brown for Adams. No picks or other players involved.
Cowboys:
Michael Gallup is a sidekick to one of the NFLs best; Amari Cooper. Prescott does not need any more targets, so it is possible Gallups 79 rec and 1007 yards are up for trade. At 24, it is going to take a load to acquire Gallups talents. Yes, its possible. But, its unlikely.
Mock Deal:
Gallup for Adams, Jets 2022 First Round selection.
New York has zero leverage. Jamal Adams will not play for a Jets team. It is that simple.
The Jets may take whats given. Obviously it will be fair, but its unrealistic thinking the Jets are holding any of the cards. They need to get rid of Adams and do not have many more options. Getting a wideout is the most positive feedback, in a more dark situation for the Jets team.
Expect trade offers to be leaking soon, which will give more ideas of Jamal Adamss worth.
