According to TSN’s Pierre Lebrun, the former St. Louis Blues captain, Pietrangelo, has signed a 7-year deal with Vegas with an annual average value of $8.8M.
It was reported a couple of days ago that Pietrangelo was in Vegas, Nevada, participating in a free-agent visit with the Golden Knights. Only two days later, he’s a member of the team.
The 30-year-old, has been one of the league’s best defencemen for years. He has been a member of the Blues since 2008 and has been captain of the franchise since 2016.
The right-shot defenceman now joins a Vegas team determined to win a Stanley Cup championship.
The Golden Knights have been close to the Stanley Cup Finals in each of their three years in the league so far. However, they haven’t been able to close it out.
After trading Nate Schmidt away to Florida yesterday to make room for Pietrangelo, Vegas can run with a top defensive pairing of Pietrangelo and Shea Theodore.
