Pascal Siakam, Fred Vanvleet, Malachi Flynn, and Patrick McCaw have all cleared from NBA Covid protocols for the first time in 3 weeks. After losing 5 straight games, the Toronto Raptors are finally coming together again.
Furthermore, this would make Siakam, Vanvleet, Flynn, and McCaw all eligible for tomorrow’s game against the Detroit Pistons.
Raptors struggles without 3 starters
Due to Covid Protocols, the Toronto Raptors dropped the last 7 out of 10 games. With the absence of 3 starting players, Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell had to carry the load.
In the past 5 games, Kyle Lowry averaged 18.2 points, 10.6 assists, and 5.0 rebounds. He also played 36.3 minutes a game.
Norman Powell averaged 27.8 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.4 rebounds on 52.7% FG%, with a 3P% of 44.7%. Powell also averaged 35.7 minutes in the last 5 games.
The Return of Fred Vanvleet and Pascal Siakam
The return of Fred Vanvleet and Pascal Siakam is huge for the Raptors. Vanvleet and Siakam are both starters who were a big part of the Raptors’ success when they were one of the league’s hottest teams.
Fred Vanvleet had a solid case to be an all-star before he isolated himself from the team due to Covid protocols. He is averaging 20.1 points, 6.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game in the 2020-21 season.
Siakam was struggling early in the season; however, he has improved as the season went along. Siakam is averaging 20.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 30 games played.
The Raptors will attempt to break their losing streak on Wednesday night against the Pistons.
