Real Madrid CF loanees Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos will leave the club on June 30th, 2021. This brings an end to Dani Ceballos’ two previous loan spells with Arsenal FC; his previous spell occurred last season. Dani Ceballos accumulated 77 appearances in all competitions during his time with the gunners. Ceballos struggled with injuries and loss of form during his Arsenal tenure and didn’t look to be returning.

In contrast, Martin Odegaard’s Arsenal tenure was decisively a success. Odegaard joined Arsenal in January 2021 after making only 7 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid CF. The Norwegian became an instant hit with the Gunners, scoring in back-to-back games upon arriving. Odegaard’s future at Arsenal was in doubt due to a lack of a buy option. Odegaard’s exit from Arsenal FC nevertheless confirmed itself shortly after Real Madrid signed Carlo Ancelotti.

Carlo Ancelotti’s trust in Martin Odegaard appears to be a major reason for his Real Madrid CF return. Here’s to hoping for Martin Odegaard’s success with Real Madrid CF.

Brazilian defender David Luiz’s also tenure ended this summer. Thus, bringing the defender’s controversial two-year spell with the Gunners to a close. In addition to age-related decline, David Luiz’s defensive frailty was clear for all to see during his spell. David Luiz’s penchant for giving away penalties in crucial moments further declined his stock.

Reserve goalkeeper Mathew Ryan, on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion, also departed the club. Mathew Ryan’s well-known for his tenure with the Australian national team. Ryan made just 3 league appearances in an Arsenal shirt and left following an unremarkable season. Ryan previously made 12 La Liga appearances for Valencia CF from 2015-2017.
