Lionel Messi says he is finally feeling at home and enjoying football again since moving to the MLS with Inter Miami CF. The Argentine superstar claims this is what he was looking for after two difficult years at Paris Saint-Germain in France.

“Honestly, yes, this is what I was looking for when we made the decision with my family. To enjoy it once more as I’ve done my whole career after two difficult years; the truth is we had it rough at PSG.”

Messi said.

However, the 36-year-old says everything has improved since arriving in America.

“But as luck would have it, we are in a place where we are happy not just because of the results on the pitch but because of the everyday life with my wife, my kids, our lifestyle and the way we spend our time. The truth is we are enjoying our time very much.”

Messi added.

Messi has been impressed by the standard of MLS after facing several teams so far this season. “I think soccer in the US has grown significantly this last year,” he said.

“It has shown in the results the USMNT have had lately. The USA was a great squad in the world cup too.”

remarked Messi.

The Argentine believes MLS is getting closer to the world’s top league level. “It’s getting closer and closer to the level of Mexican soccer; it competes on par against all those teams. The league cup demonstrates that.”

Messi responded positively when asked if MLS can reach the standard of European leagues. “He thinks it has every opportunity to do so, and the growth depends greatly on the league. Everything is in place; you have witnessed top-level football because of the country, the structure, and many things.”

At PSG, Messi struggled to reproduce his best form, as he scored just 32 goals in 75 games across all competitions last season. However, he looks refreshed in America and is enjoying his soccer again.

Messi has impressed in MLS games, helping Inter Miami reach the League Cup finals. At 36, the move to Miami has given him a new lease on life after dominating European soccer for so long with Barcelona.

While the MLS may not be at the level of top European leagues yet, the league’s growth has impressed Messi. With more high-profile players like himself making the move to America, the aim will be to continue increasing the quality and profile of the MLS globally.

For now, Messi is happy to be playing with a smile again, along with his family settled in Miami. After his Barcelona exit and demanding spell at PSG, America is the perfect fit at this stage of his historic career.
