The Match Continues Despite Neymar’s Knee Injury

The game continued with the 2nd half of the match still ahead. Uruguay pushed their 1-0 lead to 2-0, ultimately winning the qualifying match against Neymar’s team, Brazil. This left Neymar in tears as the team surrounded him, hoping to comfort their teammate. Furthermore, it is said that Brazil is performing poorly under Fernando Diniz, their current coach.

It was discovered that Neymar suffered both an Anterior Cruciate Ligament(ACL) and a Meniscus tear. Al Hilal, which is Neymar’s club, made this announcement. As a result, Neymar will be undergoing surgery and will be going through treatment at a later date.

Neymar will attempt to undergo recovery and thus will not be returning for this season.

The Brazillian player was once considered the 4th most famous athlete, and even the 3rd most highest paid athlete, in the world. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking bright for him as of this moment. Neymar’s knee injury only adds to his long streak of injuries. One can only imagine what Neymar’s career could have been if he could only compete and perform consistently.

The Price of Diving

One could say that Neymar’s injury-stricken career is a result of karma, as he has often taken dives in the field. The player often uses the rules to provoke fouls on his opponents. Neymar’s injuries are even challenging for referees to detect.

Having gone through so much in his career, one can only hope that the next time Neymar does hit the field, it’s with fewer injuries, less diving, and way more playing.
