Romelu Lukaku clearly belongs alongside the best in the world. That’s what the Belgian striker wanted the masses to take away from his recent comments. Lukaku spoke to the press shortly before Belgium’s Round of 16 fixture against Portugal.

“When people speak about Suarez, Kane, Lewandowski, and Benzema, they’re world-class. However, with me, it’s always about “good form.”

Romelu Lukaku’s proclamation of his ability indeed reminded all doubters who they were dealing with. Despite Lukaku’s scoring prowess, the media’s perception doesn’t match up. Even though Lukaku finished amongst the top scorers in Europe, he never gets the “world-class” nod.

Presently, Romelu Lukaku is Belgium’s leading scorer at Euro 2020, scoring 3 goals, trailing only Portugal talisman Cristiano Ronaldo. Lukaku was similarly prolific at the 2018 World Cup with Belgium, scoring 4 goals in 6 games for Belgium.

At RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League, Lukaku scored 33 goals in 73 games. Afterward, Chelsea signed Belgian at a young age. However, his initial loan move to West Bromwich Albion would be Lukaku’s coming out party. At West Brom, Lukaku permanently made an impression, scoring 17 goals in 34 games. He subsequently repeated the stellar form during his next loan move to Everton FC.

Everton later signed Lukaku permanently for just 25 million GBP. Lukaku was one of England’s best strikers during his Everton spell. However, his stellar play with The Toffees earned Lukaku a 75 million GBP move to Manchester United. Lukaku arrived at Old Trafford courtesy of Jose Mourinho. He later moved to FC Internazionale Milano following 2 years with Manchester United FC.

Lukaku is currently with Belgium for Euro 2020. Belgium presently hopes to win the whole tournament with the world-class Romelu Lukaku as their talisman.
