Harry Kane’s future is reportedly still up in the air. The Tottenham Hotspur and England striker recently drew headlines for numerous transfer rumors. Most notably to Manchester City. While the season already started for both teams, Kane still has about 2 weeks in the transfer window.

After returning from England’s heartbreaking Euro 2020 run all the way to the final, Kane expressed some thoughts on leaving. He even skipped training in the preseason, most likely in hopes of forcing an exit. However, he remains on the Spurs roster.

Further complicating the situation, he wasn’t included in the team’s matchday squad against City. Ironically, Tottenham managed a 1-0 win against the title favorites in Kane’s absence. This led many to believe he still has a chance to move teams in the transfer window. Even his own manager has no idea about the star striker’s future.

“He is continuing his preparation. Harry needs to work, he worked today and he will keep on working until he’s ready. Is Harry at the stadium? He worked in the morning, I don’t know what he is going to do.”

For years, Kane starred at Tottenham, but the team never managed a major trophy. He regularly topped scoring charts in England and became the team’s captain. In 336 competitive appearances, he managed a whopping 221 goals.

However, his frustration is understandable considering the height of his long career at Spurs was arguably a second-place finish in the Champions League. Another came in 2016 when the team came just points away from a Premier League title.

Kane recently put out a long statement via Instagram regarding his absence at training. He essentially apologized to fans and defended his professionalism, but he never actually stated if he is staying at Tottenham. This rose a red flag for many of the club’s supporters.

In addition, Nuno’s statement only heightened the uncertainty surrounding Kane’s future. Kane’s departure doesn’t look too likely with Spurs’ asking price at around £100-£150 million. However, with the transfer window ending at the end of August, the possibility of his departure remains a hot topic at the club.
