Brazilian striker Willian Jos lashed out against Real Sociedad, claiming that the promises made to him during his contract renewal were unfulfilled. In a statement made to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, Jos mentioned, I think they have not treated me well.” The striker returned to Spain following a loan spell in the Premier League. He had a disappointing spell, scoring once in 17 games with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Willian Jos also believes that the team betrayed him, not sending him to bigger clubs as promised two seasons ago.

I think they have not treated me well. I expected a little more. When I signed my last contract with Real… There were some interested teams, from the Premier (League) and also from the League (La Liga). I spoke with Roberto (Olabe), and he told me that if a big team came to play in the Champions League, he would let me go.

Jos says the manager failed to keep his promise.

He further added that Barcelona and Manchester United pitched big offers for him, which the club turned down. The closest he came to leaving seemed to be for Jos Mourinho’s Tottenham. Jos claims that he spoke to Mourinho on the phone. Tottenham was delighted with the possibility of him coming to the club.

To conclude his statement, he made it absolutely clear that he plans to leave Real Sociedad.

I’ve been here for five years and I need something new. I want to get out of here. But, of course, I have a contract and I don’t know what will happen.

The striker resigned a couple of seasons ago but has come to regret it.

Jose also addressed the emergence of the Swede, Alexander Isak. A factor in why he was no longer “playing as before.” The young striker carried the offensive load and is currently leading his team at the Euros.

He finished by saying that he’s been in a difficult time, hoping that although the fans do not always know the truth, they will believe what he says about Sociedad’s lies.
