Steve Kerr lauds Kevin Durant for being the most talented basketball player he has ever seen, according to a conversation with Logan Murdock of The Ringer.

Kerr has had his fair share of experiences with All-Time great players. He played alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in Chicago. Moreover, he shared the court with the greatest power-forward to ever do it — Tim Duncan. As a coach, the eight-time champion has worked alongside the dynamic shooting tandem of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Despite his history with pantheon worthy players, Kerr awards Durant the prestige honour for most talented.

“I would say Kevin (Durant) is … when you factor in everything, size, speed, athleticism, I think he’s the most talented basketball player I’ve ever seen in my life,” Kerr explained to Logan Murdock of The Ringer.

“It was more just a level of basketball that I’m not sure had ever been reached before.”

Durant’s Time in Golden State

Kerr was also reminiscent of his time coaching the former MVP. He explained that Durant “was very coachable” and used his elite basketball acumen to adapt quickly to the Warriors way.

In just three seasons with the Warriors, Durant won back-to-back Finals MVPs. He was undoubtedly the best player in those series against the Cavaliers and was ramping up for a three-peat before tearing his Achilles during the 2019 Finals.

Many will repudiate the notion of Durant belonging in the conversation of Jordan and LeBron, but Kerr has a solid case for most talented. The Slim Reaper is a seven-foot sniper capable of torching opposing players both from the perimeter and paint. Moreover, he has handles like a guard, and clutch intangibles you simply have to be born with.

Durant will be a member of the Brooklyn Nets for the 2020-2021 campaign. He will be attempting to capture his third title in five years.
