Supergiant Games revealed Hades 2 in the 2022 Game Awards. Two years later, the game is set to launch in early access. For players who can’t wait any longer, they can sign up for the official Technical Test for Hades 2.
For more context, a Technical Test ensures that players will have a smooth experience in the upcoming early access. It helps developers find any bugs they missed during their development.
Players can expect to find the first major area, early-game characters, and systems in the Technical Test. Of course, the fun truly begins in early access, as the Technical Test will have less content available.
Below are the required PC specs for the Technical Test, according to the official blog post of Supergiant Games:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit (or Steam Deck)
- Processor: Dual Core 2.4 Ghz
- Memory: 4GB RAM
- Graphics: 2GB VRAM / DirectX 12+ support
The Technical Test will be up for quite some time. The company mentioned that they still have no clue when to shut it down, but the estimate would be “longer than a week, shorter than a month.” Hence, we suggest for fans to try it out ASAP.
Supergiant Games encourages players to have fun in the Technical Test. Once they encounter any game-breaking bugs or crashes, players should report them to them, as this would massively help the development of Hades 2.

- Go to the official Hades 2 Steam Page
- Look for the section that has the title “Join the Hades II Playtest”
- Click “Request Access”
- Players will know they signed up once they see the alert below:
Unfortunately, registering doesn’t guarantee the player to get early access. Doing the aforementioned steps only gives them a chance to join. Players would know that they got chosen once Supergiant Games gives them an email that entails the steps on how to download Hades 2.
