The now-former Sixer Dwight Howard announced his farewell to the Philadelphia 76ers on his Instagram account since he’ll leave in free agency. Now, he prepares to return to the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency after winning the NBA championship there in 2020.

In 2020 Dwight decided to leave the Los Angeles Lakers since they acquired Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell. Consequently, the Philadelphia 76ers agreed to bring him in a 1-year deal to backup Joel Embiid and help the Sixers with his championship experience.

Evidently, Dwight accepted the offer, and the 76ers became the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference. Despite this, they lost in the Second Round of the Playoffs, losing to the Atlanta Hawks in 7 games.

However, the Lakers had a tough year, losing in the First Round against the Phoenix Suns in 6 games. Their season was over, and due to the poor roles of Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell during the season, the Lakers welcomed Dwight back.

After disappointing years for both teams, Dwight changed his life, attempting to help the Lakers win the NBA Championship like they once did together.
