Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes announced that his signature shoe will be dropping later this month. Teaming up with Adidas, Mahomes revealed the shoe that will be the culmination of a childhood dream.

This summer, the shoe marks just the latest piece of Mahomes’ brand roll out with Adidas. While Adidas did release two Mahomes-inspired shoes, this will be the first that is completely his own. The Mahomes 1 Impact FLX portends to be just the first in a line of forthcoming Mahomes products. Earlier in August, Mahomes and Adidas revealed the signature logo that will represent Mahomes’ brand.
Unfortunately, for Mahomes and Adidas, the logo was leaked back in April, and public reception to the leak was mixed. While many athletes fit their initials into their brand logos, Twitter didn’t appreciate the “PM” design Mahomes and Adidas decided on. Whether fair or not, Twitter had fun with the logo either way.
Mahomes and Adidas have chosen the logo to feature on his clothing line regardless of the negative reaction. The “PM” forms a gladiator mask, which Mahomes believes represents making an effort every day. Due to the NFL’s strict uniform and customization, signature shoes and personal brands are less common than in the NBA. Despite the limitations, Adidas has picked Mahomes as their foremost athlete.

Patrick Mahomes’ signature shoe is just one of the many business enterprises he’s getting involved with. Along with his Adidas partnership, Mahomes is bringing the Texas Whataburger fast-food franchise to Kansas City. On top of that, Mahomes has also become a part-owner of Sporting KC and the Kansas City Royals. Mahomes is just one of the few athletes to become partial owners of sports franchises.
Luckily for Kansas City fans, with Mahomes under contract, and his investments going into the Kansas City community, it seems Mahomes has no plans of leaving Kansas City any time soon.
