However, it seems that they won’t be getting Yuri on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence in this lifetime.

Why was Yuri!!! on Ice The Movie: Ice Adolescence canceled?

Many are speculating that it was MAPPA who canceled the movie, mainly due to the alarming amount of projects they had to deal with recently.

According to their official website, they are working on the following anime series:

  • Zenshu
  • Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc
  • Oblivion Battery
  • Bucchigiri

A veteran animator’s story about MAPPA’s horrendous working conditions further supported this fact.

The man in question is Vincent Chansard. He previously worked on Boruto, RWBY, and One Piece. Recently, MAPPA studios hired him to work on Jujutsu Kaisen, Shibuya arc.

Overall, Yuri on Ice fans are disappointed that MAPPA canceled the Yuri on Ice movie. Some are complaining that the studio made them wait seven years for nothing.
