Due to popular demand, Arenas will be returning to League of Legends in 2024. The mode will be available by May 1 alongside League of Legends patch 14.9. Riot will release it at the same time MSI commences in Chengdu, China.
Overall, here is a summary of the main changes coming to highly demanded mode.
- Eight teams will fight against each other, making the players count in one Arena lobby 16
- Prismatic items (new item tier) and Anvils
- New champs are featured, namely Jhin, Pyke, Thresh, Sett, and Lux
- New map
- New UI
Arenas will be available for about five months. Furthermore, depending on player feedback, Riot may make the mode permanently available, like ARAM.
Lastly, let’s go through some of the important changes.
New Map
Riot also announced a new map of Arenas named Koi Pond.
The Koi Pond map is divided into three islands, which means that players won’t be able to cross the lake at the start. Eventually, the map will evolve with the addition of Hexgates, Blast Cones, and a Bloom Bridge, which should give players more options to outplay their opponents.
